1. My mom came over to put some stuff in the garage today and I got her to give us a ride to the store. There was a good sale on Coke, but you had to buy a ton to get the sale price, so it would have been difficult on the bus. This saved me from having to take the bus to get the giant box for Julie's stuff, too. Unfortunately Staples was entirely out of boxes of any size, so I had to go to the UPS Store. Do not ever buy boxes at the UPS Store. Their prices are ridiculous. D: But I had no other choice, damn them.

2. I finished reading Shounen Keisuuki tonight. I actually started reading this book three, maybe four years ago. It's four short stories, all with the same narrator, same universe, but still, each story is self-contained, so when I put it down after the third story and got distracted, I just never got back to it.

This was my year to finish any half-read books on my shelf, though, so I was determined to get through it before the end of the year. The final story took me twenty pages or so to really get into and I kept putting it down, but then I was hooked and I remembered why I love Ishida Ira's writing so much. I spent most of this evening finishing it up. I love his writing so much, and I really love these Ikebukuro West Gate Park stories.

I honestly can't remember much about the earlier stories in this book, as like I said, I read them several years ago. I did like that the first one featured a transguy (and was a very respectful portrayal, not problematic at all that I can remember), but I was less thrilled with ( Spoilers in case anyone else in the world actually reads these books or plans to, which you totally should if you can read Japanese; there's a reason why Ishida Ira is an award-winning writer! )

That's a whopping ten books read this year now. Hopefully I can get a couple more in before the end of the year. :D

3. I ended up buying an account on LibraryThing. helens78 said you can only add 200 books with a free account, though I can't find any documentation on the site itself about what free and paid accounts can do. But it was only $19 to buy a permanent account, so I figured what the hell.

so instead of going to school today, i stayed home and watched ten billion episodes of criminal minds and played minesweeper. i don't even know, you guys. i didn't even do any of the schoolwork i was pretending to myself that i would do. (i did finally do some dishes, at least.)

i feel somewhat resigned to this, and also kind of amused. like, seriously, self? maybe i need a minder. orrrr more sporadic access to the internet. i also feel a little distanced from everything. i just need to finish this semester and plan the next one more carefully.

one thing i WILL tell you that i am pretty pleased about is this melatonin stuff. wow! it's just. i took one maybe five minutes ago and i feel it already. i'm even just taking half a (1 mg) pill instead of the whole thing.

I think I'm gonna work my way backwards and download "The Prodigal" next, because I have heard great things! I think I'm just in denial about the show ending and don't want to deal with it. Plus, you know, the whole Costa Rica thing.

I've always sort of wanted to see them live, but I can't muster the loss-of-dignity necessary to buy tickets. They sound really good though, which impresses me even though it ought not (the thing about boy bands, as JT evidences, is they actually can sing).

I was such a BSB fan, back when. "Millenium" was the first CD I ever bought. They were pretty much my favorite musicians up until I discovered Matchbox Twenty. ♥

Fascinating. I would have never even thought of this but it could work - well not really - but this story actually makes you think maybe it could. Maybe.

Harry stared for a long minute. For so long, he'd been the one giving the orders, to a rag-tag bunch of witches and wizards trying to save a world that didn't want saving. Maybe it would be easier, being told what to do, to let someone else take the responsibility for his life.

Started writing my fic for sosodirty. Will probably finish within a few days? Idk, it's pretty simple. Angst, hand, ass, cuddling.

I work a retail job doing makeup. While I would love to just stand around and do people's makeup all day long- the truth of the matter is my job is to make my company money. If I do not make my company $120 per hour, I will not be givin a sufficient amount of hours on next weeks schedule. So please do not come in my store and ask me if I do free makeovers, because I have to say yes and hope that you buy at least a few things. I get it, it's fun to have your makeup done..However, it's also fun to be able to pay bills, and without making sales and recieving hours I'm having a hard effing time doing so. Also, your skin tone is your skin tone. When I match your foundation shade don't tell me that you don't want to look pale. Guess what? You are pale. I am not having you leave my makeup chair with a white neck and an orange face, if you'd like to do it to yourself that's fine.

I had a customer LOSE HER SHIT at me because I asked her 6(ish) year old kid if he wanted a Barbie or Hot Wheels toy. He picked Barbie.

She said the question was inappropriate and confusing.

When I was a kid I always wanted Hot Wheels and I'm a girl so whenever the kid is there/old enough to answer I ask which they'd prefer. Sorry if your kid doesn't conform to your gender stereotypes you controlling bitch. It made me so mad.
